ABERYSTWYTH POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH STUDENTSHIP (APRS) COMPETITION 2009.

The competition for these prestigious research studentships is now open to all UK and other EU students who wish to study for a full-time PhD in any of the following departments at Aberystwyth University:

Art

International Politics
Biological, Environmental & Rural Sciences

Law & Criminology
Computer Science

Management & Business
Education & Lifelong Learning

Mathematics & Physics
English Literature & Creative Writing

Psychology
European Languages

Sport & Exercise Science
Geography & Earth Sciences

Theatre, Film & Television Studies
History & Welsh History

Welsh & Celtic Studies
Information Studies



To be eligible you must be a UK or other EU fee payer, to have or expect to obtain at least upper second class honours in your first degree and to apply and be offered a place for doctoral study at Aberystwyth.

There will be twelve awards available and successful applicants will receive a grant for up to three years which will cover their tuition fees (worth £3300 per annum) and also provide them with a maintenance allowance of about £12600 per annum. Furthermore, they will be given access to a travel and conference fund.

The deadline for the 2009 competition is 1st March 2009.
N.B. Some departments have earlier deadlines (e.g. Department of International Politics - 1st February 2009 and Institute of Geography & Earth Sciences deadline for science subjects only- 23rd February 2009).

Selection for the above awards will be based on the application for admission, including research proposal and two academic references.
